Action art aNa artiste contemporary art festival Portugal

Action art uses the body, time and space as materials.

The formal characteristics according to historians and theorists of contemporary art action are
- the presence of the artist,
- immediacy here and now,
- the presentation context of the action,
- the dematerialization of the work and
- the viewer become an actor.

Whether orchestrated or improvised, subtle or straightforward, action art is a living, sometimes provocative and uncomfortable aspect of today's art.

Action art goes back a long way in the history of humanity.
- the action needed to print a hand on a rock wall,
- through initiatory rites,
- to the act of painting understood as a work in itself and to the events of art where the spectator becomes an actor,
action art remains an open and undisciplined concept.

The practices of action art determine its operational criteria and delimit its methodologies outside the stylistic conventions of art.


The artist aNa is part of this approach by inviting public to take part concretely and freely in a performance during a defined period.

She participates here in this film, at the International Biennial of Ceirvera in Portugal.

she invites her public to take part in the creation of a giant mural during the day, outdoors.
Families, couples, friends, ... all pose color on the outside of the transparent cylinder which represents its favorite support.

The artist lives in his support. aNa creates a unifying drawing with a black line from inside its cylinder, surrounded by an audience that is busy filling in the fresco.
 
In the end, the tube is opened and returned to present the final result.

The work has since been visible during the visit of the contemporary art center of Cerveira.

L'art action utilise comme matériaux le corps, le temps et l'espace.

Les caractéristiques formelles selon les historiens et les théoriciens de l'art action contemporain sont
- la présence de l'artiste,

- la dématérialisation de l'œuvre et
- le spectateur devenu acteur.

Qu'il soit orchestré ou improvisé, subtil ou direct, l'art action est un aspect vivant, parfois provocateur et inconfortable, de l'art d'aujourd'hui.

L'art action remonte très loin dans l'histoire de l'humanité.
- De l'action nécessaire à imprimer une main sur une paroi rocheuse,
- en passant par les rites initiatiques,
- à l'acte de peindre compris comme œuvre en soi et aux événements d'art où le spectateur se fait acteur,
l'art action demeure un concept ouvert et indiscipliné.

Les pratiques de l'art action déterminent ses critères opérationnels et délimitent ses méthodologies hors des conventions stylistiques de l'art.


L’artiste aNa s'inscrit dans cette démarche en invitant sont public à prendre part concrètement et librement à une performance pendant une durée définie.

Elle participe ici dans ce film, à la Biennale internationale de Ceirvera au Portugal.

Elle invite le public à prendre part à la création d’une fresque géante dans la journée, en extérieur.
Familles, couples, amis, … tous posent de la couleur à l’extérieur du cylindre transparente qui représente son support de prédilection.

L’artiste habite son support. aNa conçoit en direct un dessin fédérateur à la ligne noire depuis l'intérieur de son cylindre, cerné par un public qui s'active à compléter le remplissage de la fresque.

Au final, le tube est ouvert et retourné afin de présenter le résultat final.

L'œuvre est depuis visible lors de la visite du centre d'art contemporain de Cerveira.
